Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive.

Our On-Demand classes are generally 40 min - 3 hours long, when you include all of the educational materials and cooking demonstrations. However, you are able to skip sections or return back to a section at any time.

You will receive the recipe for the dish(es) you select, a list of required cooking equipment, and your link to join the Zoom meeting 7 days prior to your scheduled class.

Absolutely! Each class offers multiple delicious dish options to prepare.  Feel free to take a class as many times as you would like.

While we encourage active participation, you are more than welcome to register and watch our cooking classes.

Our On-Demand classes cost $5 - $40


Or Beginner Live Virtual classes start at $260 per session. 

Our Advanced and Specialty courses are designed to discuss specific topics in greater detail.  Our Specialty courses focus on specific health-related topics and may include expert insights or guest speakers.  Due to the added depth and personalized content, these sessions are priced at a higher rate.  

Cooking classes are not typically considered a qualified medical expense for these health accounts unless they are directly related to a medical condition or prescribed by a healthcare provider as part of a treatment plan (usually this requires additional documentation from your healthcare provider and approval from your health account provider).  

It’s always best to check with your health account manager for specific guidelines. 

No, each attendee has the opportunity to choose the dish(es) they would like to prepare based on the options listed for each class.

This is where the magic is displayed!  

The Plate Discussion is the section of the class when each attendee has an opportunity to showcase their hard work (share pictures, discuss the cooking process, any ingredient substitutions made, and how delicious the dish turned out)!  

Dr. Jordan will also answer questions and review the nutrition facts for each dish.

Yes, each of our classes include a variety of recipes with nut-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.  

If you have other dietary requirements and would like ideas on how to make healthy ingredient substitutions that will fit your needs, contact us for suggestions.

At Healthy Kitchen by Advantage HCS, we’re committed to inclusivity and supporting diverse dietary needs. Each class includes a variety of recipes with nut-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options — so everyone can cook, learn, and feel good about their dishes.

Once you've registered for class you will receive the recipe for your dish you selected with modification suggestions to fit multiple different dietary preferences.

No, at Healthy Kitchen by Advantage HCS we utilize the "Health Meets Food" curriculum of the American Board of Culinary Medicine. These evidence based, well researched teachings are derived from the foundations of the Mediterranean Diet.

Most recipes will make 2 - 3 servings, however you can scale up your recipes to make more if you would like.

If you finish cooking early you should send a picture of your finished dish to Dr. Jordan for the Plate Discussion.  

You are then free to start eating your delicious meal, begin to clean up your kitchen, or ask questions, while others are finishing up.

We understand everyone cooks at different speeds.  You should not feel rushed.  

Continue to take the time you need to finish your dish.  When you finish, remember to take a picture of your final product and send it to Dr. Jordan to include in the Plate Discussion.

In order to prevent running behind, we encourage attendees to take into account the listed preparation times and your cooking speed when choosing which dish(es) to make.

We encourage you to send a substitute in your place if you are not able to attend (be sure to let us know who will be attending as soon as possible so we can ensure they receive access to the class).   

All class registrations are nonrefundable.  This is due to the amount of preparation that goes into planning for each session.

However, if you cancel your registration more than seven (7) days before the day of your scheduled class, you may request a credit to be applied to a future class.
